MIC Colostrum

What is Colostrum and what are its benefits?
Colostrum and all it's components such as lactoferrins, lactins, lactoperoxidase and approx. 50 other proteins are associated with the immuno-regulating process of the immune system. Colostrum is a potential growth supplement and immune modulator. Only colostral milk from the FIRST milking, following birth within the first 4 hours, is collected. Only cows which have calved two or more times are colostrum donors. Our Colostrum contains an immunoglobulin-concentration of min. 38% (typical 41%).

Important Components in Colostrum
Immunoglobulins (antibodies) are powerful specific and broad-spectrum antiviral and antibacterial defenders. Immunoglobulins are the most important and abundant immune factors found in Colostrum. There are five classes of immunoglobulins found in all mammals, including humans. (IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG and IgM). Each has its own unique structure and job to do in the body. Colostrum contains all of the immunoglobulins. Lactoferrin is one of the most powerful antiviral, antibacterial substances, found naturally, only in bovine Colostrum (not species specific). It has been show to play a major role in our body's defence against disease, infection, cancerous tumours and HIV.

Scientific and Medical Studies

Wilson, D.C, N.D, PH.D. James, 1998 Journal of Longevity, Vol.4, No 2; Immune System Breakthrough: Colostrum
"The most effective Colostrum is bovine. It's much richer in immune factors than human Colostrum, particularly in the body's most important immunoglobulin, IgG." (Sandholm, 1997)
"Bovine Colostrum can supply an overtaxed body with more immunoglobulins than human Colostrum"
"IGF-1 has anabolic and tissue repair characteristics. IGF-1 is the only growth factor that can stimulate muscle growth and repair all by itself." (Tollefsen, 1989)

Samson, R.R. et. Al., Immunology, 1975, Vol.38, No 2, 291-296
"Dr. Samson and associates found Colostrum was 21 times richer in Vitamin B-12 than milk. Research in 1975 confirmed that adequate Vitamin B-12 in the body doubles the body's immune systems ability to fight disease."

Sandholm et. Al., Acta Veterinaria Scandinavia, 1980, Vol.20 No 4 pp 469-476
"Bovine Colostrum was found to contain a powerful trypsin-inhibitor which protects Colostrum immunoglobulins from digestion. It was demonstrated that Colostrum from cows is richer in immune factors and inhibitors than Colostrum from humans."

FOR STRENGTH, VITALITY AND ENDURANCE

Immunefactors
Medical and clinical studies show immune factors in Colostrum neutralise Viruses, Bacteria, Yeast, Fungus, Allergens and Toxins.

Immunoglobulins
Have been shown to provide a superior defence both in treatment and prevention of viral infections, bacteria and yeast. High quality Colostrum must be certified to contain a minimum of 16% immunoglobulins.

Antibodies
Colostrum has been shown to contain specific antibodies that may help the body in it's fight against specific diseases such as pneumonia, RVS, dysentery, candida, flu and numerous other illnesses.

PRP (Proline-rich Polypeptide)
Shown to possibly support and regulate the Thymus Gland (the body's central command for the immune system), may help calm an overactive immune system and stimulate and underactive immune system.

Lactoferrin
A protein that has been shown to transport essential iron to our red blood cells and also keeps harmful bacteria and viruses from getting the iron they need to grow on.

Glycoproteins
(Protease inhibitors) A digestive factor that has been shown to help immune and growth factors survive the passage through the highly acidic digestive system.

Lactalbumins
Research indicates tremendous possibilities that Lactalbumins can be highly effective against numerous forms of cancer and viruses.

Cytokine's: Interlukin 1 & 6, Interferon Y and Lymphokines
Shown to stimulate the lymph gland and are thought to be highly effective antiviral immune

Growth Factors: Anti-aging/Healing
Medical studies have shown the viral growth factors IgF-1 and TgF A & B and nucleotides from bovine Colostrum to be identical to human in composition. Further, it has shown that they can help stimulate normal growth, regeneration and accelerated repair of aged, or injured muscle, skin collagen, bone, cartilage and nerve tissues.
Helps stimulate the body to burn fat for fuel instead of the body's own muscle tissue in times of fasting (diet). Helps BUILD LEAN MUSCLE. Helps provide raw materials to repair vital DNA and RNA in the body's cells. Can help balance blood sugars (non insulin diabetics and hypoglycemia). Can be an effective topical application for burns, injuries and skin rejuvenation.

Vitamins & Minerals
Colostrum is not a supplement; it is the whole food for the newborn; it's combination of vitamins and minerals are naturally occurring and in perfect combination.
